Having evaluated the current website of your SPA Company, it requires an intensive
redesign, as this website was developed with minimal consideration of the human-computer
interaction aspect. Human-computer interaction ensures that the users are comfortable when
interacting with the website. In an attempt to ensure the SPA website meet the ideal
standards, User-centred design (UCD) will be used in the redesign of the website. User-
centered design is an iterative design process. In the design, the focus is more on the user’s
needs in every phase of the design process. The UCD design teams carry out a variety of
research on the intended use of the website (Cockton et al., 2016). With the user requirement
in hand, the designer (s) creates a highly interactive and user-friendly website.
Description of User-centred Design
In broad terms, UCD is a design philosophy and a process in which the wants, needs,
and the limitation of the end-users of the website are given an intensive focus at every phase
of the designing process. It is user-centric and enables the business to place the customer’s
needs at the heart when designing the company’s online platform. By designing for users first
is beneficial in that it improves efficiency and the cost of developing based on the user’s
requirements as there will be less redevelopment required in the future (Coleman et al.,
2016).
Defining the user context
In this phase, the designer identifies the users of the product. Its use and the circumstance for
its use is established. Besides, the business requirements and user’s goals that must be
achieved are clearly defined. A design solution is then created; this part of the process may be
implemented in stages. This step requires the designer to build it from the rough concept to a
full design. Then the evaluation of the plan design is done: the model is evaluated in terms of
