SWOT analysis means conducting an analysis by using the Strength, Weakness,
Opportunity and Threat of a company. SWOT analysis is conducted through critically analyzing
the internal and external strength of the company. It helps to identify the Strength which the
company can use to defend against the competitors and conduct its operation. Weakness is
something that the company needs to work for and the competitors can attack on the weakness of
the company. Opportunity gives the company the chance to work on the environment and it
comes from the external strength of the company. Threat, which the company possesses from the
external environment and it uses its strengths to defend against the threat. Strength and weakness
are the internal factor that the company can easily control but the opportunity and the threats are
the external factors that the company cannot control easily as they come from the outside
environment of the company.

electronics world. Variety of products helps it to diversify the risk of the company.
Samsung has a wide distribution network and it also has distribution channel almost all
the countries in the planet. The distribution channel is very strong and it helps to reach the every
corner of the globe.
Samsung holds significant market share in most of the product categories. In smart phone
Samsung has good percentage of the market share. The cell phones, tablet, TV, camcorder, Home
appliance, and printer also dominate the markets in different countries. Overall all the products
launched by the Korean company have significance dominance in the market.
Samsungs is the best in terms of design features and technology. It was the first to
introduced dual screen mobiles , 65k TFT/LCD color phone, first phone with polyphonic
ringtones, phones with rotating lens, thinnest and lightest note pad etc. The research and
development department of the Samsung Inc. works very hard to introduce new products in the
market and make customer satisfied.
Samsung enjoys the first mover advantage in some products. It introduced advanced
features in LCD, refrigerator, Air conditioner etc. It introduced the world’s smallest MP3 player
and India’s first 17” TFT-LCD-TV monitor. These products gains popularity and capture the
market within a short period of time.
Samsung took advantage of the growing economy of Asian market by setting up
manufacturing plant in India there by reducing logistics and supply chain costs. Samsung has
established their facilities in China and purchase all raw materials like rare earth etc, from China
which has the highest rare earth in their ground.
