Introduction
There are various ways where ethics is understood, for instance, it is felt like a
very easy and soft subject. Conversationally it is viewed as a pressing issue, a process for
meeting a company goal, hiring the right workers or can be viewed also as a process for
developing the operational processes of a company. However, if ethics aren’t well
defined it can create a lot of troubles in any firm, just like in any business entity that is
creating mission, vision, and principles, ethics thus enter the conversation. Moreover,
ethics entails legal policies and procedures that if breached it leads to many problems to
the firm. Generally, ethics can be defined as a tool that an organization uses to make sure
that all the workers behave responsibly in the workplace with both external and internal
stakeholders. Therefore, an ethical decision-making model is a framework that managers
use to bring together all the principles to the company and ensure they are followed to the
later.
Recognize an Ethical Issue
The first step that one should ask oneself is, could the situation or decision be
damaging to someone or a particular group of workers? Does the decision involve a
choice between a good and a bad alternative, or maybe between two “bad” or between
two “good”? Also, the issue about legal or what is most efficient, if so, how?
