Introduction
Nurses engage in activities of advocacy in their everyday activities in the effort of engaging
with the patient. Nursing practices involve activities of intervening, promoting and striving to
protect patients in the perspective of the rights of patients, safety and health. The engagement of
nurses includes other staff through international effort, national and community level to meet the
needs of patients according to the standard of professional practices. The advocacy committee and
health policy help in shaping the expert voices of nurses through development, education, research
processes, and excellent practices among nurses (Opelka, 2019). Their activities are monitored by
the legislative system of the federal government. The legislative activities of the national
government encourage nurses to engage in professional practices under health regulations to serve
communities and families.
The engagement of nurses, physicians, doctors and medical faces different struggles in the
pursuit of quality medical delivery. The main issues of nurses engagement involve unsafe working
conditions, inadequate staffs, insufficient Medicare reimbursement and practice fighting with
managed care. The legislative decisions are established based on authority knowledge and
understanding of the common issues affecting the delivery of quality healthcare services. Healthcare
policy advocacy has been initiated through an outrageous sense of enforcing regulations, policies,
and conceived laws according to the primary needs of healthcare stakeholders (Mund, Zaccagnini,
& White, 2011). The advocates indicate that all healthcare constituent should be involved in the
activities of making decisions in the legislative system. The decision making policy involves
engagement of the nation’s policy and decisions through applying new skills of building relationship
and communication among medical staffs.
