Using Relationship Management Skills Ethically
I don’t think that it is a moral thing to do. The skills and strategies to maintaining
relationships are express emotions, provide comfort and social support, engage in relationship
talk, be tolerant and show restraint, and manage conflict cooperatively. An individual can try to
use these relationship management skills to increase intimacy with a person who isn’t interested
in being intimate with you. If you keep on trying to be intimate with that person, what happens
when they turn you down? I have a friend that tries to be intimate with my other friend, but he
turns her down every time. He says that they are nothing but friends. She keeps trying to do
things for him and get her feelings involved in every conversation that they have together. An
individual can always try, but don’t try to hard because one might end up getting hurt. People
have to think about others and not just their self.
