Question1 Case study
For the case of McCoy's Building and Supplies centers that are situated in San Narcos in Texas.
The company is one of the most abundant supplies and building company managed by a family. It
is approximated to serve more than ten million customers every year in a region that covers a large
area around New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, and Lousiana. The main objective of the company is
to provide outstanding products ever available and provision of high quality services.
The premises are able to manage customer service as the headquarters is responsible for
the management of other operations. The company is run by a family because the top management
is mainly comprised of Emmett McCoy and the two sons, namely Brian and Mike, whose role is
to serve as co-presidents. The company also poses of seventy percent full time employees and
thirty percent part-time employees. The company also has strategized a mechanism to give an off
to employees on Sundays in order to provide a break for the employees. The policy of the company
is to treat its employees in a humane way so that they can give the best of their effort because they
will be satisfied with the job as guided by the policies.
The policies by the company's management were able to enable the company to escape
many challenges it faced. The hurricane that hit Texas in 1961 caused a lot of damages that cost
the company millions of dollars. This is the time when other companies took advantage of the
situation, and the customers were exploited, but McCoy company refused to exploit its customers,
and this earned the company a lot of confidence from the customers. The fair dealings by the
company enabled the company to be the community pillar, and it was able to hold up to date. This
success was due to its strategies for fair dealings.
