Journal Week 4

In most cases, the nurses operate in a context that is characterized by complexities and

challenges. The experience and knowledge accumulated from the various activities have offered

me with a tool to overcome these challenges surrounding the healthcare system. this promotes

the effectiveness of service provided in a marginalized patient populaces. Thus, my encounters

with various patients and complicated events and diverse patient populations have provided

prospects to enlighten my leadership and professional skills. Following the nature of my

profession, I can no longer rely in academic training alone since I’m preparing to work in various

settings. Thus, the college training and practical encounters have augmented my capability to

practice leadership expertise and play a central role in the delivery of high quality services to

specific groups in the community. Consequently, I have gained an understanding of the nature of

the environment where I will work.

New Practice Approaches

In the last few years, the nursing profession has undergone significant changes. As a

well-prepared nurse, I have acquired ways of dealing with various forms of changes in order to

offer the best services to the patients. For example, the prolonged utilization of some models and

approaches like evidence-based has promoted numerous skills and knowledge that will allow

easy management of some illness like diabetes and heart failure and obesity the weakness that

surfaced, in this case, is that some of the new practices were hard to adapt. Despite this

knowledge, I have come to understand that a good number of standards may not be fully

adjusted. Finally, I have realized that the use of empirical researches characterizes the field of

nursing.
