Previous approaches to revision that have worked well with me
Some of the revision techniques that I have used previously include; quizzing myself to
check whether I have gained sufficient understanding of the topic (Buckingham & Aktuğ-Ekinci,
2017), taking notes of some of the critical issues that I might forget, teaching the topic or giving
explanation to someone else to help widen my knowledge and gauge my understanding of the
topic and ranking topics in order of which I understand most and have sufficient knowledge in
and the topic in which I have insufficient knowledge in.
New Revision strategy
According to Chelbi, one of the revising strategies is the use of mother tongue language
to teach in class. This has become more regular in foreign classes. This is because students have
a better understanding of the language and using it to administer lectures will enable students to
properly grasp what is being taught in class
How instructors’ feedback influences ideas of the writing plan
Professor Arnold’s feedback in week 1, suggests that Chelbi gave answers to some of the
critical assignments which included; roles and use of mother tongue in different classes, stretch
which tutors use mother tongue in teaching foreign languages, students' contentment in the use of
the language and various factors that contribute to the teachers' use of the mother tongue
language. For example, the reason why most instructors use the native language is to give an in-
depth understanding of the topic of discussion (Karaagac & Paker, 2015). One of the factors that
contribute to the use of the language is the instructors and students sharing the mother tongue as
a common language where both parties understand it. The use of the native language out of the
class establishes the need for teachers to create a bond between them and the students. Even
though instructors use the mother tongue as an approach to revision, they should be careful to
