LATIN AMERICAN AUDIO 2
Marimba Curruloa Bambuko is an audio associated with the Colombian culture
involving Colombians who have African origin connections. The audio belongs to the
Currulao genre. This audio which is highly associated with afro-Colombian people is
usually danced during the festive season which is usually June- July. The contained in this
audio is that of love (In Torres., 2013). One of the reason I like this audio is because it is
promoting culture and ensuring traditions are well safeguarded. The dance involves men
and women who briefly engages in moments of flirting during the dancing sessions. The
audio is equally very cool and therefore it is entertaining. The audio applies the use of
marimba instruments (In Torres., 2013). However, sometimes there is the use of a guitar
which will equally produce a similar audio when used together with marimba. This is a
secular music which seeks to entertain and educate afro-Colombian people. I selected this
audio because of the message which it convey to the listeners in real life situations and in
addition to that, it is a cool music.
