Binary World Analysis/Reflection
Many theories about the existing universe other than what we live in today are presented
by numerous men. That alone, it may be possible for a man to discover or create a universe that
is somehow alike to ours. The universe we live in today is ruled by fear, sadness, loneliness,
despair, suffering, hate and death. This factors may have or not lingers on each of us. It touches
every part of our soul which we could have our silent plea to live on a universe without feeling
these said factors. We thought of a “perfect” universe but what kind of universe is a “perfect”
universe really? Our minds our powerful but can a man really make a universe by modifying
the laws of physics into some codes? Run the codes in a computer and with the aid of
nanorobots which the nanorobots plays a vital role for an individual to set foot in the universe
that the humanity longed for.
Now in the screenplay is about a brilliant physicist who laid a mind blowing explanation
to a senior engineering student who happens to grief on his dead sister and the pain from parting
ways with his girlfriend. Dr. James at the same time have created a universe that is for me, a
“perfect” universe. According to him, it is a world of reversibility. Therefore, there will be no
death. It is also a world of peace since everyone in that universe abide the rules and goes to
work for three to four days on the community. In short, the universe we wanted. The universe
I longed to be able to live even just for a while.
Dr. James’ breakthrough is intriguing since your memory are transmitted to the
computer and when you are already on the other universe, those people in your memory are
there, may they be alive or dead already on your memory but on the universe he created, they
are pretty alive there and are flawless. However, those people you haven’t seen their faces or
their figure itself doesn’t count one. These people from your memory exists only happen with
the aid of nanorobots. The nanorobots are inside a looking ordinary tablet sized which are the
transceivers. I found it amazing that the universe he created caters only one person. It is a
brilliant idea because of the fact that a conflict of interest may arise if the world stimulates
many people. Dr. James has a point with that because the world he created is peaceful and if it
ever happens that the said world will cater many individuals then it would be chaotic.
Moving on, I agree with Lars when he prefer equity rather than equality. Equality is
nice but equity is better. The truth about human beings are made for irreversible world is pretty
hard to accept. We sure are made to make a progress to achieve the equilibrium in the universe
we constantly walk but fail to do so.
It sure is the truth that humans crave to be loved, craves the love he would want to feel
as it lingers our nerves that we don’t forget to appreciate. To the point that it brings out the best
of you, give meaning to your so called dull life. I am too. I longed to be genuinely appreciated
by the persons I think highly of. The warmth that envelopes every corner of my soul is just
different because I rarely felt. It is so rare that it is hard to keep the tears not to fall.
Overall, the screenplay is worth to read. I’ve learned new terms and agreed to the points
of Lars, the scene when he talked to the Architect when he wanted to go back to the world that
reversibility won’t happen. Death, pain and sadness is present on the outside of the created
universe but it is where he truly belongs. It is just sad how the wife wanted to bear the pain of
losing him even though she wasn’t made to cry on the first place. How she begged Lars not to
leave their family specially her. How they both loved and looked at different skies reminiscing,
imagining they are still together. But the scene when Lars was able to look at the skies for the

last time when he can’t stand up anymore, when he thought about Liv for the last time. Liv on
the other universe at the same time imagined falling asleep on her beloved husband’s embraced,
broke me. Liv won’t know that Lars would be dead while she is imagining that he is with her
and that is pain.
