Table 1.1
There is a total of 35 randomly selected high school students that were used as
participants of this study. The table above contains the mean or average of the participants
responses and the standard deviation which determines the dispersion of the data.
In the 35 students, 18 are males and 17 are females. Most of the participants ages 16 to
17 years which is the age range of typical 1
st
year senior high school students. The average family
income of the participants is 17,654.29 pesos per month which affirms the participantssocio-
economic status that is, in average, they belong to the average class.
Generally, these students appear to be not diligent when it comes to studying.
Considering having a standard deviation of .41322 that plays around the mean of 2.2386, these
students only study rarely. However, looking at the grades of these participants they have
surpassed 3 points higher than 80, the starting mark of excellence. Although the dispersion is
quite high, these students’ grades plays around very good to excellence range, considering the
average grade of 83.2411. Given the data, the researcher can postulate that students study habits
do not correlate with the grades the students have. Factors that are not considered in this study
might have an underlying effect on this matter such as the level of difficulty of the lessons in
every subject.

Looking at the average of the Anxiety level of these students, it is 4.1789 which falls in the
range of Panic-level Anxiety. It is the most disruptive and challenging, as it overwhelms one’s
capacity to function normally. They may experience an inability to move or speak, but sometimes
the opposite is true. Some people take off running or find it impossible to sit or stay still. Their
ability to think rationally will likely be impaired, and their perceptions might be distorted. They
might not identify danger or understand their needs in the moment. Extreme life stressors can
provoke these types of reactions, such as being victim of a crime or living through a disaster.
Whereas the average of these students’ motivation is 3.5243 which falls in the range of Stressor.
They are known for their Perseverance. Being in the close proximity to perfection makes them
noteworthy performers. This means that these students are achievers. They tend to become
more motivated to achieve high when they hit rock-bottom.
With these data, Anxiety level and Motivation, it gives the researcher the kind of students
the participants are.
