Different factors are attributed when seeking to attain a second language. The first
language that is accomplished while as a child is overshadowed mainly due to the natural
settings and the ultimate attainment. But when achieving a second language, then age is one
of the critical factors that affect how good the student can master the language or not.
Additionally, the learners have additional elements that contribute to the second language
learning process that is with the learner's interest and his or her ability to learn the new
language. Age is highlighted to be a significant factor due to its effect on the process of
acquisition of the second language of the individual. In respect to individual age, the rate of
learning is different for different individuals on children under 6 years, teens of 12 years, and
older adults who are over 25 years. A generation has an impact on the learners’ fluency and
achievement on the second language flow. Age affects the acquisition of the different native
speakers’ dialects and accents. A learner’s age plays a significant role in learning a second
language, and it is prudent for learners to observe this essential factor.

age has an impact on second language acquisition and in particular, affects the proficiency
