Low-level and High-level programming
languages.
Low level Programming Language:
Low level Programming languages is defined as a language which computer can easily understand.
It is kind of computer language. A low level language is one that can be reduced directly to
assembler. This language have a very low memory efficiency. This is portable from any one device
to another. It contains binary numbers which are 0 and 1 .
Binary Numbers:
Computer can only understand binary numbers. In binary numbers 0 means OFF
and 1 means ON.
Examples of Low level language:
C
C++
High Level Language:
High Level language is a programming orientated Programming Language. It can be defined as a
language which can understand by humans but Computer cannot understand it.
If a computer wants to understand high level language, it must be
compiled into Machine language. Otherwise computer gives you error. A higher level language is
one in which fundamental machine types, such as int , char, double, pointers. These languages
have very high memory efficiency. It means that they consume less energy as compared to any
high-level language. A user cannot port these from one device to another
Examples of High Level Language:
Java
Pascal
Perl
