History of Technology
Introduction
The technology revolves around us. From our simple alarm clock to mobile phones,
technology has changed everything. In this fast-changing technological world, technology is
changing day by day, and a number of new inventions are introduced on a daily basis. As an
example, one of the most commonly used technologies, mobile phones, will be discussed to
know about its historical advancements. However, there are also some other technologies that
will be discussed later in the paper.
History and Background of Technology
The first-ever call was made by Marty Cooper in April 1973 with the help of a portable
cell phone. Cooper was an engineer at Motorola. Due to the bulky size and heavyweights of the
cell phones, almost all phones were well-thought-out as “car phones" for the reason that it was
impossible for any individual to carry these phones in pockets. However, with the technological
advancements, one of the very first truly mobile phones, were introduced in the market by
Motorola in 1983. It was the Motorola DynaTAC 8000x (Fling, 2009). This was the mobile
phone that an individual could simply carry because its weight and size were less than the
models that were introduced earlier. In the past, the use of cell phones was only limited to the
business world, and they were not used for personal calls.
After the introduction of Motorola DynaTAC 8000x in the market, the technology kept
on changing, and with this advancement in technology, a MicroTAC was introduced within the
market. This was the phone with a red LED display. Along with a display, there was 12-buttons
keypad was also present on the phone (Sungwoo, Kim, Park, & Joung, 2014). The features of
this model do not finish here as it also included numbers options comprising keypad tones,
