Seven Tools for Quality
The Japanese first implemented seven quality tools as part of their industrial training
program. The tools comprised of graphical or simplified statistical techniques and are used to
solve critical quality-related problems. In today's most competitive business environment,
organizations utilize quality tools so as to assist them monitor and manage most of their quality
initiatives to ensure that their goals and objectives have been attained (Magar & Shinde, 2014).
Seven common management tools are highly used in most workplaces to solve complicated
problems among the employees. These tools are comprised of the following.
1. Flowcharts.
Flow charts are ubiquitous and widely used. Organizations use flow charts to breakdown
complex organs into more unaffected organs that can be easily understood by every employee.
For instance, the management of an institution is usually ranked based on a well-organized flow
chart where the senior officials, such as the overall manager of the organization, sit at the top. In
contrast, the junior officers such as the supervisors lead at the lower rank. The flow chart
enhances proper communication flow and workflow within the working environment. Also, in
case of any conflict among the employees, an appropriate chart of flow can provide a proper
channel to whom the employees will approach first before proceeding to higher ranks (Magar &
Shinde, 2014). The most common flow charts used in workplaces are the work breakdown
structure and the organizational structure.
2. Histogram
Pearl Pearson first discovered histograms by estimating the probability of distribution
among the continuous variables. Even though the histogram is represented in a graphical bar, it
differs from the bar graphs because it uses only one variable, and its frequency distribution is
