By the time Ibrahim ruled, the political structure in the Lodhi Dynasty had
dissolved due to abandoned trade routes and the depleted treasury.
Another problem Ibrahim had when trying to ascend the throne as the next Lodhi emperor
was the resistance from a faction of the nobility. Later Ibrahim Lodhi arrested Afghan nobles
who opposed him. The Afghan nobles were loyal to the Governor of Bihar, Dariya Khan as
they wanted him to rule Delhi, not Sultan Ibrahim.
People who tried to take over the Lodi throne were extremely common during Sultan
Ibrahim’s time. Due to the lack of the law of succession, Ibrahim was forced to put down a
great group of these ambitious men. Ibrahim Lodhis' own uncle, Alam Khan, working off his
own ambitions, betrayed Ibrahim because he wanted to rule Delhi. Alam Khan decided to
place his loyalty to the Mughal emperor, Babur.
The defeat of Ibrahim ended the Lodhi Dynasty and marked the beginning of Mughal rule in
India. Due to the demands of the nobles, Ibrahim Lodhi’s younger brother was given a small
share of the kingdom and was crowned the king of Jaunpur. Later, Ibrahim's men
assassinated him soon and the kingdom came back to Ibrahim Lodhi. He was known to be a
very stern ruler and was not liked much by his subjects. To take revenge of the insults done

Ottoman Empire of the 1400 ,Turkey
In the early days of the Ottoman Empire the main goal of its rulers was expansion. The
earliest states of Ottoman expansion occurred under Orkhan , Osman I, and Murad I. Bursa,
one of the Ottoman Empire's earliest capitals fell before 1400. Several important victories
gained more land for the Ottomans and Europe began to be ready for Ottoman expansion.
After some military defeats in the early 1400s the Ottomans recovered their strength under
Muhammad I and in 1453 they captured Constantinople. The Ottoman Empire then entered
its height and what is recognized as the Period of Great Expansion, meanwhile the empire
came to include the lands of over ten different Middle Eastern & European states. It is
believed that the Ottoman Empire was able to rise so rapidly because other countries were
weak and unorganized and also because the Ottomans had advanced military organization
and tactics for the time. In the 1500's the Ottoman Empire's expansion continued with the
defeat of the Mamluks in Egypt and Syria in 1517, Algiers in 1518 and Hungary in 1526 and
1541. In addition, parts of Greece also fell under Ottoman control in the 1500s.
In 1535 the reign of Sulayman I began and Turkey became more powerful than it had had
under previous leaders. During the dominion of Sulayman I, the Turkish judicial system was
reorganized and Turkish culture began to rise significantly. Following Sulayman I's death the
empire began to lose power when its military was defeated during the Battle of Lepanto in
1571.
Decline and Collapse of the Ottoman Empire : Throughout the 1500s , the Ottoman Empire
began a considerable decline in power after several military defeats. The empire was restored
for a short time after military victories in Persia and Venice and After this , the empire again
began to lose territory and power subsequently.
The Ottoman Empire began to rapidly deteriorate following the Russo-Turkish Wars and a
series of treaties during that time caused the empire to lose some of its economic
independence.
Importance of the Ottoman Empire: Despite its collapse, the Ottoman Empire was one of the
largest, longest lasting and most successful empires in the world's history. There are many
reasons as to why the empire was as successful as it was but some of them include its very
strong and organized military and its centralized political structure. These early, successful
governments make the Ottoman Empire one of the most important in history.
