Transforming Care at the Bedside Proposal Rapid Outreach Response Team (RORT) Identifying the problem ● ● ● ● We’re in a thankful place in modern times, where evidence and critical analysis offers a platform to consider the problems we have in our healthcare establishments. We know from recent evidence that the rate of mortality (among many other factors) in the care that we provide directly correlates with the nurses available (Tourangeau, 2006). Furthermore, we know that how we use nurses and the impact policies we implement has a direct impact on therapeutic outcomes. From this, we can extrapolate that we need to consider implementing policies that make more effective use of a nursing time budget, without causing more costs overall. The Problem ● ● ● ● In community nursing, we’ve begun to build an active network of outreach practitioners who’ve had a proven overall effect so far. We know that community-based nurse-led clinics have had a positive impact on patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, access to care, and mixed results on costeffectiveness (Randall, Crawford, Currie, River, & Betihavas, 2017). The rationale behind providing this community care is to reduce hospital admissions and more expensive treatments while providing high-quality professional care.
