Museum or National Park Visit Proposal Assignment

The selected park is Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park, which is

situated at 2995 Lincoln Farm Rd. off of U.S. 31E, nearby, Louisville, KY. This contains two

components of the National Park System.

This place displays Lincoln and forerunner life and gives an audiovisual curriculum. This

historical area contains picnic areas and walking trails. The Birthplace section comprises of the

Memorial Building and 116 acreages of Thomas Lincoln's Sinking Spring Farm (National Park

Services. (n.d.). The walking tracks follow the trails of the Lincoln's oldest times, through the

popular Sinking Spring, and the areas of the borderline marker oak tree. The tracks at the Knob

Creek Farm area track the rivulet where tender Abraham and allies used to play and work.

For over 100 years, visitors from different parts of the world have visited the countryside

Central Kentucky to respect the lowly foundations of the sixteenth president, Abraham Lincoln.

His childhood, like on Kentucky's frontline, molded his personality and equipped him to head the

country through the Civil War. The first cenotaph, constructed with contributions from old and

young, treasures the emblematic birthplace cabin.

The reason for selecting this place is following its important implication and significance

to the US as a nation. The national park is meant to honor the humble beginning of the president

following his significant contribution to shaping the current status quo of the US.
