WEEK 1 DISCUSSION 2
Personally, I understand writing as simply a process of communicating. This means that
we are involved with writing when we are writing letters, writing memos, and even writing
assignments for our classes among others. I do not have a lot of practical experience when it
comes to writing. I have however taken a writing course before. I have done so in APU in my
previous semester. It was really fun and I learned a lot of things in as far as persuasive and
expository forms of writing are concerned. I always write for work and this includes writing
daily and weekly reports of what I do. I sometimes also help in writing memos for my supervisor
at work. I also write in my journal for pleasure and I also write letters to my friends and family
members once in a while. All these, however, do not give me enough practical writing
experience because I do not do this more often. I highly believe that in order for one to have
enough practical writing experience, he/she needs to practice writing more often. He/she also
needs to learn more about how they present their work and persuade the audience in as far as
ethos, pathos, and logos are concerned (ENG101 Week 1 Reading, 2020).

afraid whether I will be able to follow the major writing elements which are the organization,
formulating a central idea, identifying the proper supporting material, avoiding major
punctuation, grammar, and spelling mistakes, as well as word choice and forms of expressing
major points of views. My one biggest concern however out of all these is the organization of the
central idea and avoiding major punctuation, grammar, and spelling mistakes. These are the
things that I always have a problem with even after proofreading my work. I always have the
content to write but these challenges make me an inexperienced writer. Over the next few weeks,
I, therefore, want to work on these personal concerns. I want to learn how to organize my ideas
and also how to avoid major writing errors including avoiding grammatical, punctuation, and
