OBSERVATION.
Observation.
Introduction.
Observation refers to the process of taking a patient to look at something to make deductions.
Observations may include asking questions, taking down notes, and filling out questionnaires.
The process of observation may be tedious but the results are always pleasing. For our
observation in children, we are going to look at the language. Below is the description of
language and what it entails.
Language.
Language is vital for every communication even though there are other methods that people can
communicate without using the language. In a child’s life, learning a language of communication
is important since that is what they will be using throughout their learning process (Smiatek,
2016). This, therefore, shows the vitality of language in children’s life. In traditional
communities where education is not necessary, language is mostly used for effective
communication. Language in children not only covers both speaking and reading ability of the
child but also learning of new vocabularies and their uses. All the above lay foundations for the
child’s literacy skills which entails reading and writing.
Promoting language skills.
To promote language skills, we are going to break it in terms of children’s age.
Infants the best way to ensure that infants learn a language is to read to them as if we
are talking to them. The use of eye contact and gestures will also help the child in the
development and understanding of verbal communication.
