Case 3: Inflammatory Bowel Disease Case Study
Question 1
The patient was played on immunosuppressive therapy to help the autoimmune disorder
that resulted in pain and diarrhea. The possible Grohn disease diagnosis shows that there is a
need to counter this autoimmune disorder as it has occurred. According to the symptoms that the
patient presented, immunosuppressive therapy was the best choice to start treatment.

diverticulum. According to the patient’s symptoms, there is a possibility of Meckel’s
diverticulum condition. This condition can be diagnosed both among children or adults, and it

occurs during the early period of fetal development during pregnancy. The common symptoms
include diarrhea and abdominal pain and cramping, among others, which are similar to the ones

obstruction is common among older children and adults (Anand, Handa, & Chauhan, 2004).
Based on all these symptoms and the child’s age, it was right to order for the Meckel scan to
