All organizations in the field of electronic and digital media are concerned with
generating and maintaining an audience. Audience access information from the digital
platform using smartphones, laptops, and tablet devices. Marketers in the area of electronic
and digital media are more focused on audience expressions rather than their impressions.
Question one
One of ideas that one can use to collect research data to penetrate the viewing
preference of 18-25 age demographic includes obtaining data from secondary sources (Tyler,
2018). The sources available include national research sources, professional consulting firms,
local research departments, and industry and trade associations. The methodologies to
employ in the data collection include audience rating data and random sampling. The internet
and digital platforms assist in acquiring the research data through average quarter-hour
persons, average quarter-hour share, average quarter-hour ratings, and cumulative persons.
Average quarter hour persons approximate the number of listeners to a radio station no
less than five minutes at each quarter-hour. Average quarter-hour ratings estimate the
percentage of the overall audience using previous data. Average quarter-hour share estimates
the average rate of the audience at a particular time. Cumulative persons determine radios or
televisions' cumulative audience or the approximate audience reach. A high number of
collective persons indicate a substantial market reach.
Question two
The most applicable concept in my current career is the roles and responsibilities of a
program manager. A program manager is responsible for programming content. Content is a
critical component in a successive media platform. It attracts an audience, which, in return,
draw the attention of marketers. Program managers are responsible for the following
managerial tasks; budgeting: acquisition, scheduling, evaluation, and interpersonal skills.
