MULTI-TASKING 2
Multitasking is a concept of performing multiple items within the same duration.
However, multitasking while studying is a hazardous effect since it interferes with brain
capacity. For instance, listening to music while reading reduces one's productivity since the
student's significant attention will be on the music rather than reading. Likewise, it cuts on
efficiency while conducting academic tasks (Dindar & Akbulut, 2016). The significant
distractions while reading include watching a movie, listening to music, and texting while
reading. Students are attracted by minor things that tend to drive their attention from studies. For
instance, studying while texting is a form of inefficient study habits since significant
concentration will be on texting. Studying is an aspect that requires full attention; thus, the
involvement of other activities causes memory issues, less productivity, and an increase in social
anxiety. It causes brain damage since it diverts to the most attractive item leaving aspects, such
as reading aside.
Multitasking while driving depends on the activities engaged, such as driving, while
listening to contented music causes a positive effect as it increases one's concentration. However,
listening to maintained music is a non-thinking action while driving is a thinking action; thus, the
driver has no much distraction effect. On the contrary, listening to loud music is hazardous while
driving since it causes distraction causing the driver to lose focus. This case is a significant effect
on youth who love music since driving while singing can cause them to lose the total emphasis
on driving resulting in fatal accidents. Involvement of two thinking tasks such as driving while
talking is dangerous since the driver can quickly lose concentration resulting in an accident.
Likewise, texting while driving is a hazardous activity as it causes distraction, hence damage to
the vehicle and demoralizing injuries on the passengers and driver. Talking over the phone while
