Mental health is one of the most sensitive topics the contemporary world has had to deal
with, in recent years. On this quest, awareness has been made, and many people are more
knowledgeable about what mental health is all about. While speaking about it, several mental
health conditions are worthy of discussing and one of them is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
This paper, in its lengths and breadths, expounds on what OCD or rather Obsessive-Compulsive
Disorder is all about. While at it, the causes, effects, and any other relevant optics are also
elaborated upon.
To understand this condition to bits, this paper begins by defining what OCD is and
consequently rates its intensity on a standard scale of mental health conditions. Through its
progression, this paper uses secondary sources to make the topic and the research as a whole
comprehensive and watertight.
Introduction
At a time when the mental health of humankind is being tested to the limits, there are
several underlying mental health threats that have continued to bug almost everyone’s minds.
One mental health condition is the OCD, which in full stands for Obsessive-Compulsive
Disorder. This paper narrows down on the optics and details of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
and while at it, also reflects on what the disease means to those who have to, and those who do
not have it as well. Most importantly, this paper sheds light on OCD as both a societal issue and
an individual condition that affects both sides of the divide.
