The criminal justice organization incorporates the approaches that involve court trials and
convictions of law offenders. The system also involves the procedures of court trials whereby
criminal suspects are tried based on their crimes. The judges have the final verdict of a criminal
case but the jurors argue and weigh the offense and the laws whereby the final verdict can be
decided by the team of jurors. Jurors can nullify a court case by claiming that the defendant is
not inculpable even when the law situates that the crime is illegal. Jury annihilation is thus
deemed to be the practice of utilizing conscience and the logic of morality in evaluating the law
and the offense committed by an accused individual (Butler, 1995). The nullification is when the
team of jurors agrees or votes to term a defendant not guilty regardless of understanding that he
or she had broken the law.
Furthermore, jury nullification has been utilized in the court proceedings for a long time.
The process has been vital in reducing the cases of prosecution and the overcrowding in the
federal prisons. The justification for jury nullification can differ depending on the magnitude of a
criminal case (Brooks, 2017). The juries have the role of evaluating the consequences of
prosecution and the benefits of acquitting a defendant. Nullification is also a legal process as it
involves the evaluation of the law and its implementation in a criminal case (Butler, 1995).
Nullification can also be effective in enhancing the integrity of humanity. Also, nullification is
justifiable based on the misconception and the unjust use of the law in the criminal court process.
The jurors can weigh the causes and the effects of criminal activity and evaluate what would
follow if an individual is prosecuted and imprisoned. An unreasonable application of the law in a
criminal court proceeding could attract the jurors' nullification whereby the team of jurors would
