Question description

A radiation detector can be fabricated by cutting an angled groove in a surface. The surfaces of the groove are gray with emissivity of 0.8, and the symmetric groove makes a 60degrees angle. If the groove 1 cm deep groove is exposed to solar radiation (qsolar = 1000W/m2), what is the heat transfer from the groove required to maintain a temperature of T = 40C? (You may assume that the radiation enters the groove at 30 degrees relative to either surface.)
