Actual vs measured voltage

Question description

There are two resistors, r1 and r2, connected in series with an ideal battery. A voltmeter measures 2V, 3V, and 6V accross r1, r2, and the battery respectivly. What are the actual voltages across the resistors? Please do not use Vrms, use the method of adding a voltmeter to the circuit one element at a time or if that doesn't actually work, then use a method from physics, not electrical engineering. Thank you.
