DNA analysis is considered to be the identification of the suspect utilizing genetic material such as blood, semen, and saliva.  Blood is considered the “gold standard” for genetic material.

Research a criminal case where DNA was used to analyze the blood evidence.

  • Summarize the case and its evidence.
  • How was DNA testing used to analyze the sample of blood evidence? What was the outcome of the case?
  • If there had been no DNA to analyze the blood, and the case relied on ABO typing, would the suspect have been identified and arrested? Why or why not?

Your assignment should be 2 page(s) in length.
