You have been directed by your school site to develop a mission statement that will guide your school media center well into the 21st century. In a two- to three-page paper (plus title and reference pages), develop an Information Literacy Mission Statement that addresses the following components:

  • Discuss the role of your media center facilities in terms of the student population and overall school community.
  • Describe the role of the IL librarian.
  • Explain the desired outcomes for students and other patrons of your media center in terms of the development of their information literacy skills.
