Silicon Valley Organization is working toward its initial National scale drone delivery system. The drone is Making thousands of deliveries per year; according to Park, J., ETC (2018), Drone Technology could be a significant disruptor to our carbon footprint in our Fourth industry revolution. Zipline's latest drone model flies higher and faster while being able to carry a more substantial cargo. This drone has been acquired to improve the logistics system of Ziplines; the drone can pick up to a speed of 80 mph, which is 63 to 13 mph faster than the previous drone model. This drone delivery system has become a life-saving tool for the distribution of supplies to Zipline.
The drone distribution system has successfully delivered critical medical supplies to remote areas such as vaccines and other essential items to keep the people safe; according to the peer review article, Sub-Saharan Africa leads the way in medical drones. (2019). The drone account for more than 20% of all the blood delivers outside the capital, Kigali. More drone distribution centers are being open; the hope is that the whole country would be in the range of this life-saving delivery system.
Spencer, L. (2018). the zipline government is working on federal aviation administration that is set to launch a medical drone delivery service across the entire country. The FAA project is a relief for billion worldwide don't have access to critical medical supply. The medical drone delivery system is Projected to reduce delivery cost waste and access in remote areas. 2017 was the year that Zipline announced that they would have the most extensive drone delivery service in the world; everyone will have access to blood transfusion supplies, vaccines and medication.

Decision theory refers to the study of an agent or person’s choices. The theory allows researchers to understand the logic behind the decisions consumers make (Rappaport, 2017). Decision theory and its implications for consumer buying behavior is a critical tool for businesses. It can help them make predictive models for which products consumers may prefer and why they choose them. Indecision theory, the concept of sensitivity analysis, is used to predict the outcome of a decision given a certain range of variables.
The two concepts can be used to analyze Zipline’s drones in Rwanda and why they have been widely used to deliver vital medical supplies to the most difficult-to-reach health centers. Zipline, a US-based delivery company, focused on ferrying medical supplies, partnered with the government of Rwanda in 2016 to launch the first commercial drone delivery operation in the world (IML Group PLC, 2021). Since the introduction of the service, the company has flown 18,641 miles, dispatching over 7000 units of blood products, including plasma, platelets, and red blood cells. About 35% of these deliveries are related to emergency life-saving situations.
Several factors influenced Rwanda’s decision to contract Zipline. First, the company runs the first and only commercial drone delivery service globally, making thousands of deliveries annually. The company’s newest generation of autonomous aircraft flies faster, farther, and carries more cargo (Hotz, 2017). Another factor that influenced the country’s decision to use drones is that Rwanda is a hilly country with various hills and extensive mountainous areas. This means that transporting vital medical supplies via a treacherously tangled road network would lead to the loss of valuable hours in the race to save lives (Hotz, 2017). Also, many healthcare facilities in Rwanda do not have the budget or necessary facilities to help them maintain their own refrigerated blood banks. As a result, the country has a high maternal mortality rate mainly due to post-partum hemorrhages.
These are some of the factors that have made drones so popular in Rwanda in delivering medical supplies and life-saving blood to hospitals. The company’s success in Rwanda inspired other countries to embrace the technology. In 2017, Zipline expanded its services to Tanzania, a country 35 times the size of Rwanda. The Tanzanian government and Zipline entered into a contract that has seen the company make thousands of deliveries of basic surgical supplies, antibiotics, antimalarials, lab reagents, HIV medications, emergency vaccines, and blood transfusion supplies to Tanzanian hospitals and healthcare facilities (Boeras et al., 2019). In addition, the company has rapidly expanded its services in the United States and Latin America.
Blood is an essential element of modern health care. Without it, the risk of death during childbirth is high, accidents are more deadly, and major surgeries are impossible. Therefore, Zipline drones have not only revolutionized health care but have also played a key role in saving millions of lives. The technology is also expected to transform global commerce as more businesses are embracing it. Firms such as United Parcel Service (UPS) and Amazon have already carried out experiments on drones for the delivery of goods. Although the technology still faces many challenges due to legal issues and airspace restrictions, it is a promising alternative for the future of the delivery of goods (Boeras et al., 2019). Many businesses are likely to embrace it because it is a faster and cheaper option.
