SNHU Information Technology Career Report Discussion
DirectionsThe Information Technology Field: Before you explore career options in information technology, it is important to distinguish between the various disciplines that exist within this field. In this section, you will be considering these disciplines, as well as two primary tools for information technology professionals: programming and scripting.IT Disciplines: To begin your report on careers within the information technology field, define the distinction between computer science, information systems, engineering, and information technology. In your description, first define each discipline and then describe how that discipline is related to others within IT. In your definition, address the following:What roles and careers within the IT field are related to these disciplines? What tools and technologies are most applicable to these disciplines?Programming and Scripting: Following your description of the different disciplines within information technology, explain the relationship between programming and scripting and their uses within the IT field. In your explanation, first define scripting and programming, then address the following:What distinguishes a script from a program? How would an IT professional use scripting in their work? How would they use programming?Describe a potential case where an IT professional would use a scripting language in their work. Describe a potential case where an IT professional would use a programming language in their work.Information Technology Careers: Once you have defined the fields available in the world of information technology, it is time to start examining careers. For this section, you will be examining three positions within your chosen area of interest.Careers of Interest: First, identify careers of interest within the IT field. You will choose an appropriate entry-level position, mid-level position, and ultimately the position you will strive to achieve. Then, determine whether each position is most closely aligned with information technology, computer science, information systems, or engineering. In your report, describe the roles and responsibilities of each of these careers. As evidence, ensure that you are submitting the job postings referenced in your report.Tools and Technologies: Next, within each of your identified careers, describe the tools and technologies specific to your chosen IT roles. For each career, identify and describe various tools, including hardware and software, that a professional working in that career would use.Training and Certifications: Finally, identify education, training, and certifications necessary for chosen IT roles. For your identified roles, describe these trainings and certifications, using the information in your identified job postings and descriptions as a reference. For each training and certification, describe its utility in the information technology field and sketch out how an interested person would obtain each certification. Finally, describe the transferable skills within these certifications and how they might prepare you for other careers and fields within the information technology profession. What to SubmitTo complete this project, you must submit the following:Information Technology Career ReportYou will create a report describing the information technology field, including distinguishing between the various disciplines within the IT field and identifying at least three careers of interest within the field. This report should be between 800–1,200 words. You should also include copies of your selected job postings for your instructor’s reference.

analysing and visualing data discussion 2
Initial PostData representation is the act displaying the visual form of your data. The process of identifying the most effective and appropriate solution for representing our data is unquestionably the most important feature of our visualization design. Working on this layer involves making decisions that cut across the artistic and scientific foundations of the field. Here we find ourselves face-to-face with the demands of achieving that ideal harmony of form and function that was outlined in Chapter 6, Data Representation. We need to achieve the elegance of a design that aesthetically suits our intent and the functional behavior required to fulfill the effective imparting of information.According to Kirk 2016, in order to dissect the importance of data representation, we are going to "look at it from both theoretical and pragmatic perspectives." Choose three of the storytelling techniques (Pages 161 - 209) in which data is presented and stories are being interpreted. Discuss the importance and the advantages of using these techniques. Provide an example of each technique.ReferenceKirk, A. (2016). Data Visualisation: A Handbook for Data Driven Design. Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage Publications, Ltd.Reply PostWhen replying to a classmate, offer your opinion on what they posted as the important advantage of each technique. Also, are the examples, in your opinion, relevant and usable?

Answer 2 classmatess Pamala Woolsey Week 5 Discussion Importance of Methodology I find that I agree with this whole heartedly. As an analytical person I use methods constantly. Additionally, with my focus being in programming I learned how methods can be modularized and implemented to make something more efficient. This can translate to real world skills and business practices. I believe that leads to organized and efficient work procedures which help streamline business productivity. From my experience, the importance of methodology can be lost on many employees, especially the executive team. I have often heard "Whatever works, just get it done", but often this includes subliminal messaging of "and do it as soon as possible". With this mentality I have found a lot more resistance when it comes to implementing a solid method that might take a bit more time because of a learning curve for the users. Example In my course project there are several repeated subtasks that are good examples. Anytime I built in an office I broke down the install the same way. This made sure that all important bases were focused on, and through standardization it would become a very quick process with practice. Install cables Install hardware Connect to network Install software Update software Test -Ashley Raymond Jackson Good evening Professor and class, Having a good methodology in creating and leading integrative IT solutions is a must. Process methodologies provide mechanisms of injecting trust, reliability, and confidence in an organization and its business solutions. These methodologies provide structure to project activities by incorporating forms, guidelines, templates, checklists, and other management elements that can be used with multiple projects (Kerzner, 1). Critical components of a good project management. methodology include providing strict adherence to practices, having periodic oversight and management by upper management, having formal change control procedures, and having formal tracking of risks, resources, costs and other project necessities. These characteristics help to make the project more acceptable by its customers, business leaders, team members, and other project stakeholders. By nurturing this process acceptance, the project stands a better chance of being properly executed and being better able to deliver its required deliverables. The Kerzner statement on the importance of methodology helps to support the ideas that having a well thought out plan, easily followed policies, and executable procedures help to provide a solid structure to projects. It also gives projects and the businesses that perform the project tasks an element of confidence and security. To sum it up, having documented and strictly followed practices helps to let the project’s customers and stakeholders feel more confident that the project management activities are mature and well managed. What questions still need to be addressed in the systems planning and systems analysis phases? Why are you proposing these IT initiatives? How will the IT initiatives support or enable the business objectives? What is the high-level cost / benefit of each initiative? What are the timing and priorities for your multiple-year plan? What is the timing for implementation of each initiative? In what order do you propose the IT initiatives be implemented? Why are you proposing that order? What is your recommendation for who will implement the initiatives (in-house resources, contractors, software providers, a combination, etc.)?Will the initiatives be run in-house or be implemented as a cloud computing solution? How will you measure success? What will be checkpoints to determine if the strategy is on track?Imagine that this document is going to the CEO or Board of Directors. It should include an executive summary abstract of no more than one page. A single paragraph may be enough to summarize your recommendations. Your key points should include references that support the recommendations that you are making. The strategy should include a high-level, multiple-year plan and must include a cost/benefit analysis. Your paper should be written following APA format, and should be a maximum of 15 pages, not including non-content pages (e.g., reference page, title page, table of contents, etc.).
