Explanation & Answer

ADEA means age discrimination in employment an act of 1967 in us constitution. this act aims at eradicating discrimination at work place according to the age of an individual. this assists old employees to;

  • retain employment even in times of low productivity
  • gain employment by abolishing age limits that may work against their entry into a given job
  • compete favourably with young generation who find more acceptability at work place.
  • participate actively in nation building
  • avoid wage or salary discrimination

this impacts the young workers by;

  • denying them of potential jobs to generate income hence increasing dependency ratio
  • demotivating young people by  reducing their pay to cater for old who are less productive
  • denying them a chance in nation building
