Question Description

I also need evidence of the steps and completion (screenshots)

Virtual Earthquake Lab

To complete this lab, go to http://sciencecourseware.org/VirtualEarthquake/VQuakeExecute.html   You may save screenshots of the lab pages as you go.  There is no need to send the Earthquake Certificate that you will see at the end of the lab.

Here is some important background information for completing the lab:

The Virtual Earthquake Lab shows you the recordings of an earthquake's seismic waves detected by instruments far from the earthquake. The instrument recording the seismic waves is called a seismograph and the recording is a seismogram. The point of origin of an earthquake is called its focus and the point on the earth's surface directly above the focus is the epicenter. There are four choices of locations on the first page of the lab, you may choose any of these.  The exercise involves locating the epicenter of an earthquake by making simple measurements on three seismograms.   Additionally, you will determine the Richter Magnitude of the earthquake from the same recordings.
One point of clarification:  Amplitude is not measured from the "lowest" to the "highest" part of the wave, but from the 0 baseline to the greatest value reached, (whether it is in the "up" or "down" direction).  See this example.
