Using what you’ve learned from the course readings, the multiple required and additional resources, your classmates’ presentations, as well as course discussion with your classmates, write a seven to eight page Final Paper which will culminate your learning.  Elaborate on how you plan to:

  • Apply ideal teaching techniques and strategies that incorporate respect for all cultures.  What strategies are beneficial to inclusionary practices?  What ideas have you obtained from critically reviewing your own learning and that of your peers while reviewing their presentations designed in Week Five that will contribute to social change?
  • Consider the socio-historical impacts on language and culture in your classroom or school site.  What concepts will you incorporate into your planning that highlights these influences?
  • Incorporate parent and community into your classroom or school site activities, decisions, or other learning activities.  Why is this beneficial?  What strategies will you employ to make them feel welcome?

Additionally, address the following:

  • What evidence do you now have (as opposed to the beginning of this course) that inclusionary practices through curricular, instructional, or campus-wide changes can benefit all students and staff to prevent prejudicial assumptions?
  • What connections can you make between the aforementioned questions and student achievement?  In other words, how to we as educators ensure that students from all cultures and backgrounds are able to bridge the learning gap?


APA 6th edition formatting will be followed including the required cover and reference pages.  You must use a minimum of five scholarly resources, in addition to the course text. Your resources should include a combination of peer-reviewed articles and web-based articles and they must be cited in-text.  This final paper must reflect college-level writing and critical thinking.


  1. Must be approximately seven to eight double-spaced pages in length, and formatted according to APA 6th edition style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
  2. Must include a title page with the following:
    • Title of paper
    • Student’s name
    • Course name and number
    • Instructor’s name
    • Date submitted
  3. Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
  4. Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
  5. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
  6. Must use at least five scholarly sources, in addition to the course text. 
  7. Must document all sources in APA style 6th edition as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
  8. Must include a separate reference page, formatted according to APA 6th edition as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
