Description
In the area where you live, which types of ecosystems are easiest to define? which are hardest? explain.
Explanation & Answer
For my state, the ecosystems easiest to define are the coastal ecosystems; including tropical coral reefs, mangroves, dunes, and salt marshes as well as upland ecosystems that include scrubs, dry prairies, & hardwood forests. Each of these ecosystems have characteristics such as the type of vegetation, whether or not the soil is dry, low in fertility, etc. The more difficult to differentiate (at least for some students) are the different types of aquatic ecosystems such as springs, rivers, lakes, swamps, marshes, and aquifers. You would think that it would be simple, but some people cannot tell the difference between these bodies of water.
