BBA 2026 UNIT IV DISCUSSION BOARD When discussing communication, Auditor General Randall L. Exley explains that how a person communicates (i.e., what channels he or she uses) is just as important as the message. He also feels that receiving feedback is often more important than sending a message. Knowing your receivers and establishing a relationship with them is vital (Skidmore-Williams, 2013). What do you think about Exley's ideas about communication? Do you agree that it is more about listening than talking? Is audience analysis as important of a concept as he believes it to be? Explain. BBA 2026 Unit IV Discussion Board Question I NEED TO RESPOND TO A CLASSMATETHIS IS WHAT THEY WROTE: I believe his idea is dead on. If your message is poorly communicated the meaning of your message could be lost. If your message is not fully understood the team will not be able to do or accomplish the task you are trying to get them to do or understand. The audience analysis is very important this allows you the feedback necessary for you to feel confident that your message was received properly and that your vision and goals are on the track for greatness. BIO 1302 UNIT IV DISCUSSION BOARD I NEED TO RESPOND TO MY CLASSMATES RESPONSE THIS IS WHAT THEY WROTE: Culling is some circumstances is necessary and vital for the survival of a species or preserving a natural habitat. Culling when used for controlling disease in an animal population such as stopping the spread of tuberculosis from migrating from species to another is necessary for the survival of that particular species as well as other species. Culling or thinning of the herd may be deemed necessary, take deer for example in some areas the deer population sky rockets every year, which causes problems in certain areas. Virginia is a state that partakes in the culling of deer in certain areas, they cause major issues within housing developments and traffic. There is a catch 22 situation with that since humans did build on what was once wooded areas and home to the deer. Culling when used for animal population control is not a bad thing, do I like it no but it is necessary. I don't think that there is ever a time that is appropriate for culling of a species. If I had to pick an appropriate time it would be before a situation got out of control, but with monitoring population spikes within species groups would help in determining appropriate times to cull a herd. BIO UNIT V DISCUSSION BOARD Forests cover about 30% of the Earth’s land area and provide an enormous quantity of products and services. Discuss at least two benefits that humans derive from forests. How are these benefits affected by forest fragmentation? Do you think humans also lose an important habitat, as natural lands are lost to development? Please feel free to do some independent research. For some insight, please see the video below on forest fragmentation in the rainforests of South America (click cc on the bottom right of the video to enable closed captioning). BBA 2026 UNIT V DISCUSSION BOARD Dove has continued its social media public relations (PR) campaign on beauty and self-esteem. In 2014, Meaghan Ramsey presented "Why Thinking You’re Ugly is Bad for You" at a TED Talks event. In the TED Talk presentation, Ramsey does not mention Dove. Without focusing on the organization in the speech, why would this be a good PR event for Dove? What does it achieve for the organization? Why do you think Ramsey, who is the Global Director of the Dove Self-Esteem Project, chose this way to communicate with Dove's customers (and potential customers)? What are the advantages? What are the disadvantages?

Chiral Switch Safety vs Profit Discussion
Read the information provided in the links below to learn about the impact of using racemic mixtures of active drugs versus the use of single enantiomers and formulate your thoughts to write a post for this week that include the following. Please be sure to include the question when responding to the topic.
Explain the meaning of Chiral Switching
Do you think the use of pure enantiomers in drugs is a matter of safety or profit?
How do you feel about the approval of the use of Thalidomide for the treatment of other diseases?

Ryoji Noyori, who shared the 2001 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his contributions to asymmetric synthesis, uses the tragedy of thalidomide to open his nobel lecture: "A compelling example of the relationship between pharmacological activity and molecular chirality was provided by the tragic administration of thalidomide to pregnant women in the 1960s. (R)-Thalidomide has desirable sedative properties, while its (S)- enantiomer is teratogenic and induces fetal malformations. Such problems arising from inappropriate molecular recognition should be avoided at all costs." https://youtu.be/mrTHfBCduRA
From 2001 to 2011, the US Food and Drug Administration approved 9 single-enantiomer drugs with racemic precursors. None showed pre-approval evidence of improved efficacy over the racemic precursor.

Ashford University Technology in Supporting Teaching and Learning Discussion
WK1 DQ2When using technology to support teaching and learning, there should be purpose behind using the technology. There can be a misconception that just because technology is used, teaching and learning is supported and/or enhances. To best ensure that technology is being used with a purpose we can turn to instructional design models and learning theory to help guide the use of technology in education. Prior to completing this discussion review Culatta (2015 and Instructional Design Central (n.d.). In addition, read Yanchar et al. (2010).Initial Post: Create an initial response that addresses the following:Part 1: Instructional Design ModelsConducting your own research, examine the following instructional design models:ADDIE,Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction,Keller’s ARC model,SAM model, andMerrill’s Principles of InstructionAfter you’ve learned a little more about each model, select the model that resonates the most with you and complete the following:provide a brief overview of that model.explain how the model you’ve selected could be used to support learning that is based on each of the three learning theories: Social Constructivism, Connectivism, and Social Learning Theory.Part 2: Social MediaLocate a resource that examines the use of social media in education. Be sure to provide the full APA citation. If needed, consult Scholarly, Peer Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources. This table offers additional guidance on appropriate source types. If you have questions about whether a specific source is appropriate for this assignment, please contact your instructor.Provide a brief summary of the resource you’ve selected.Explain how the use of social media in education could be used to support learning that is based on each of the three learning theories: Social Constructivism, Connectivism, and Social Learning Theory.Part 3: ID Models, Learning Theory, and Social MediaAddress the following questions:To what extent you feel instructional design models and learning theory have affected the quality of instructional technology and learning over the past several decades? What impact has the advent of social media had on instructional design models and theories? What are the advantages and disadvantages of integrating technology, especially social media, today?Guided Response: Post responses to at least two classmates. In your response, reflect on the models, theories, and responses your classmates have given. Possible questions to consider in your response might be:Do any of the models or learning theories lend themselves better to the use of instructional technology?Do you agree or disagree with your classmates view on the use of social media?600 words or more
