Why not just use the Cloud instead of storing info on the RFID chip?

timer Asked: Dec 16th, 2013

Question description

Sometimes there is no network, sometimes the network is down, sometimes the network isn’t responding when it should be but work has to get completed. High memory RFID makes it possible to access and enter information about RFID tagged items without requiring network connectivity to a ground support system or database. Since the data is always stored on the tag with the asset, industrial work processes such as in-field maintenance operations, can always access and update the information right when and where it’s needed most. Storing the data on the asset ensures compliance to specifications. When network access is available, software systems like TegoView allows synchronization of tag data with backend enterprise systems.
