Question Description

Long distance travelers facilitated the spread of many cultural traditions, technologies, and biological species through the eastern hemisphere: Islam, Christianity, gunpowder, the compass, sugarcane, bubonic plague, etc. Taking both a short-term and a long-term view, which do you consider the most important effects of long distance travel in the era 1200 to 1500 C.E. and why?
