SOCW6090 Walden Psychopathology and Diagnosis for Social Work Practice Assignment
Assignment:Video Role-Play: Strengths and Weaknesses of the DSM-5Though the DSM-5 is the standard manual for mental illness diagnoses, it is not without weakness. In this Assignment, you analyze the strengths and limitations of the DSM-5 diagnostic system, and you differentiate between normal behavior and diagnosable symptoms using the concepts of dimensionality and spectrum. To prepare: Review the concept of the dimensional approach with the DSM-5 and review the methods that the DSM-5 recommends to individualize where a person fits on a continuum of their illness in terms of subtypes, severity, and functional impairments. You will find these classifications in different parts of the manual and begin to be comfortable looking through it.Next, imagine the following scenario:You are a school social worker who has been asked to address a parent-teacher association meeting. Many parents in the audience have children who have been identified for special education services. They are confused about how to understand the diagnoses they are seeing. Others have worries about overdiagnosis. You have been advised that while these parents are generally well-informed, many don’t understand the dimensional or spectrum aspects. All are worried. You will start your video with your introductory talk to the parents on these factors. After you provide your explanation, imagine that you open the meeting to questions. You will address the question noted below that is posed by a parent in the audience. Consider your audience, and practice explaining in terms a non-professional might understand. Do NOT read from the book.Review the questions (in the Assignment instructions below) ahead of time and plan your answer before recording, as you will need to look up and integrate materials to answer the chosen question.By Day 7Submit a 3- to 5-minute video, considering the parents as your audience, in which you do the following:Briefly describe what the DSM-5 is and how it is organized. In your description, define the concepts of spectrum and dimensionality as explained by Paris and in the DSM-5 introduction.Explain why social workers and mental health professionals use diagnoses and what receiving a diagnosis means (and does not mean).Explain general concerns about the risks of overdiagnosis and misdiagnosis versus not diagnosing. Also explain how diagnosis is connected to services.Explain other details that might help your audience understand the strengths and weaknesses of the diagnostic system.Provide a response to the following parental questions: My teenager’s best friend died by suicide this year. It’s been months, and she doesn’t seem over it. Her teachers tell me she should get help for depression, but I think it’s just grief. She talks about her friend all the time and gets very upset. I am worried about her. Is it normal for her to still be feeling this way? I don’t want to put her on medication for normal feelings. What is the difference between grief and depression?*******If you can write it up, i will video myself from the write up.Paris, J. (2015). The intelligent clinician's guide to the DSM-5 (2nd ed.). Business intelligence Assignment
Please find doc attached for complete assignment details. For this exercise, your goal is to build a model to identify inputs or predictors that differentiate risky customers from others (based on patterns pertaining to previous customers) and then use those inputs to predict new risky customers. This sample case is typical for this domain. The sample data to be used in this exercise are in Online File W4.1 in the file CreditRisk.xlsx. The data set has 425 cases and 15 variables pertaining to past and current customers who have borrowed from a bank for various reasons. The data set contains customer-related information such as financial standing, reason for the loan, employment, demographic information, and the outcome or dependent variable for credit standing, classifying each case as good or bad, based on the institution’s past experience. The file is in the folder for Datafiles near the Lecture folder. Here is a screenshot of what the file look like:Take 400 of the cases as training cases and set aside the other 25 for testing. Build a decision tree model to learn the characteristics of the problem. Test its performance on the other 25 cases. Report on your model’s learning and testing performance. Prepare a report that identifies the decision tree model and training parameters, as well as the resulting performance on the test set. Use any decision tree software. (This exercise is courtesy of StatSoft, Inc., based on a German data set from ftp.ics.uci.edu/pub/machine-learning-databases/statlog/german renamed CreditRisk and altered. You could use R for the decision tree as well.)StattSoft has a 30 day free trial where you can do the decision tree problem. http://www.statsoft.com/Textbook/Classification-Tr...2 or 3 pages enough.

Are CDHPs more geared toward the healthier and younger population?, assignment help
A new type of third-party-reimbursement healthcare payment plan is emerging in the United States. CDHPs strive to control costs and improve quality of care by requiring consumers to take control of their own healthcare decisions. Consumers decide how they want to spend their healthcare dollars, depending on what is important to them. CDHPs are geared to encourage participants to enroll in some type of wellness program and improve their lifestyles. Specific types of CDHPs are health reimbursement accounts (HRA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), and health savings accounts (HSA).However, there are concerns about CDHPs. The consumer may neither understand nor have the education and the tools to manage his or her own healthcare appropriately. This may have long-term ramifications on the whole healthcare system and whether CDHPs can be successful for the consumer, the employer, the physician, and the healthcare facilities, as well as the insurers. Answer the following questions in regard to this development:Are CDHPs more geared toward the healthier and younger population? Are they effective for patients with chronic illnesses? Will they discourage the use of preventative care and cause increased healthcare costs in the future? After examining the above questions in your analysis, work around the following instructions and create a 8- to 10-page Microsft Word document:Summarize the history of when, how, and why CDHPs were developed.Explain HSA, HRA, and FSA with examples.Examine different segments of the population. Describe which socioeconomic group is likely to benefit the most from CDHPs.Explain the types of incentives to providers for efficiency in the delivery of healthcare services. Explain who bears the financial risk—the provider, the patient, or the CDHP.Offer your recommendations for patients considering a CDHP, including which types are appropriate for which patients. Include your recommendations for each, to accept or decline, and also include your rationale behind such recommendations.Support your responses with examples.Cite any sources in APA format.
