In both plays and novels, the writer is telling a story. When a person enjoys a play, he goes to the theater, sits down with friends, and watches the play live with a group of people. When a person enjoys a novel, he opens the book and reads alone.

So, although plays and novels are both ways that a writer can tell a story, the effect it has on the readers (or viewers) are very different. Which one is better—the play or the novel? Why? Decide on an opinion then defend your opinion with evidence, examples, and reasons. Your response should be one to two paragraphs long.
