To what extent is the mission of Healthy People 2020 being accomplished? This is a very broad question. For this assignment, you will investigate a narrow part of that question.
Read the modulehomepage and required readings. Read through this assignment, including the instructions, Tips for Success, and the Assignment Expectations before writing your paper.
Then, write a 2- to 3-page essay in which you first choose one of the overarching goals of Healthy People 2020. Then, find a very specific example of that topic, and discuss recent progress on the issue.

Choose one of the overarching goals of Healthy People 2020. Which one did you choose, and why? (1 paragraph maximum)
Find a very specific example of the overarching goal that you identified. Explain how the example pertains directly to the goal. (2–3 paragraphs)
Discuss recent progress on the issue. Please explain in 2–3 paragraphs and be sure to cite sources rather than simply stating your opinion.
Tips for Success with this Assignment
As an example, if you chose the overarching goal "Achieve health equity, eliminate disparities, and improve the health of all groups", you could do a search in the university's Online Library using the terms "African American AND Healthy People 2020". Type AND in all capitals so you will get articles related to both terms.

On the list of Subject Terms, choose (for example) Health Disparities.
Narrow the Publication Date between 2010 and 2013.

Make sure you explain how it relates to the HP2020 goal, and what recent progress has been made. You can search for more articles or .gov, .edu, or .org Web sites for more information, too.
Length: 2–3 pages, excluding title page and references.
