Question description

  1. Read the following description written by Ana Maria, a student planning to create a multimedia project. Then, answer the question below.
I want to create an effective public service announcement to encourage teens to stay in high school. I plan to use a variety of multi-media elements that would appeal to a teen audience. The PSA could juxtapose images of one student who is at a crossroads in his education. Some of the images would depict the student as a successful high school graduate with a rewarding life and career. Other, juxtaposing images would depict the student as a drop-out, living in poverty or working a low-wage job. The soundtrack to the PSA would complement the images. Upbeat music would accompany the upbeat images, while foreboding or gloomy music would accompany the images of the student who has chosen not to complete high school. The soundtrack would be especially effective if the music were well-known among the audience (i.e. popular music). These elements would create a cautionary tone and would encourage teens to finish high school.
What is the most appropriate way to describe Ana Maria’s goals for her presentation?
