Description
What is an example of a time in history when people have not wanted to face the truth?
Explanation & Answer
The Vietnam War is an example of a time in history when some people did not want to face the truth. The government could not face the fact that the military cannot solve all problems. The government kept getting us deeper and deeper into a war we could not win, there are wars you simply cannot win. Now we understand; today we could blow North Korea off the face of the Earth; but then what? That's not practical or even desirable. Back then the government could not face the truth.
