Explanation & Answer

3x  -  4y  =  10

5x  -  4y  =  14

when you subtract the second equation from the first,you will get

-2x+0=-4

-2x=-4

divide both sides by -2

x=2

when you replace x as two in the first equation,

3(2)-4y=10

6-4y=10

-4y=10-6

-4y=4

y=-1
