Description
Rewrite the equation using function notation. Graph the function and show the intercepts.
3x + 3y = 6
User generated content is uploaded by users for the purposes of learning and should be used following Studypool's honor code & terms of service.
Explanation & Answer
x + y = 2
y = 2-x
Then you can get f(x)=2-x
An x-intercept is a point on the graph where y is zero, and a y-intercept is a point on the graph where x is zero.
So, for x-intercept: 0 = 2-x. We can get x = 2. Point(2,0)
for y-intercept: y = 2-x = 2-0 = 2. Point(0,2)

University of Phoenix Parking Lot Occupancy Planning Discussion
Assignment ContentPurpose This assignment illustrates how data analytics can be used to create strategies for sustainable organizational success while integrating the organization’s mission with societal values. You’ll apply statistical time series modeling techniques to identify patterns and develop time-dependent demand models. You’ll practice organizing and delivering a presentation to senior decision-makers. The PowerPoint presentation includes an audio component in addition to speaker notes. Resources: Microsoft Excel®, DAT565_v3_Wk6_Data_File Scenario: A city’s administration isn’t driven by the goal of maximizing revenues or profits but instead looks at improving the quality of life of its residents. Many American cities are confronted with high traffic and congestion. Finding parking spaces, whether in the street or a parking lot, can be time consuming and contribute to congestion. Some cities have rolled out data-driven parking space management to reduce congestion and make traffic more fluid. You’re a data analyst working for a mid-size city that has anticipated significant increments in population and car traffic. The city is evaluating whether it makes sense to invest in infrastructure to count and report the number of parking spaces available at the different parking lots downtown. This data would be collected and processed in real-time, feeding an app that motorists can access to find parking space availability in different parking lots throughout the city. Instructions: Work with the provided Excel database. This database has the following columns:LotCode: A unique code that identifies the parking lotLotCapacity: A number with the respective parking lot capacityLotOccupancy: A number with the current number of cars in the parking lotTimeStamp: A day/time combination indicating the moment when occupancy was measuredDay: The day of the week corresponding to the TimeStampInsert a new column, OccupancyRate, recording occupancy rate as a percentage with one decimal. For instance, if the current LotOccupancy is 61 and LotCapacity is 577, then the OccupancyRate would be reported as 10.6 (or 10.6%).Using the OccupancyRate and Day columns, construct box plots for each day of the week. You can use Insert > Insert Statistic Chart >Box and Whisker for this purpose. Is the median occupancy rate approximately the same throughout the week? If not, which days have lower median occupancy rates? Which days have higher median occupancy rates? Is this what you expected?Using the OccupancyRate and LotCode columns,construct box plots for each parking lot. You can use Insert > Insert Statistic Chart >Box and Whisker for this purpose. Do all parking lots experience approximately equal occupancy rates?Are some parking lots more frequented than others? Is this what you expected?Select any 2 parking lots. For each one, prepare as catter plot showing occupancy rate against TimeStamp for the week 11/20/2016 –11/26/2016. Are occupancy rates time dependent? If so, which times seem to experience highest occupancy rates? Is this what you expected?Presentation: Create 2 powerpoint slides with speaker notes . Your audience is the City Council members who are responsible for deciding whether the city invests in resources to set in motion the smart parking space app. Complete the following: Utilize box plots showing the occupancy rates for each parking lot. Include your interpretation of results.

Frequency distribution of a variable and bar graph of the same variable2. Descriptives of a continuous variable: mean, median, mode, skewness, kurtosis, standard deviation and graph of that variable3. Cross tabulation of two variables with the appropriate statistical test4. Comparison of two groups (single variable) on a single continuous variable with the appropriate statistical test5. Comparison of the effect of three or more groups (single variable) on a single continuous variable with the appropriate statistical test6. Scatterplot and correlation between the two continuous variables with the appropriate statistical test Think carefully about what kind of variables to choose for the given tasks. A short descriptive statement should accompany each of the above including a description of the variables used and any meaning that may be attached to the results. Write up the project in a WORD document for submission. Grading on this project is as follows:3 points for each task 1-6: 1 point each for variable choice, appropriate display/test, description of result.2 points for overall format/readability/construct (the writing and graphs should be formal and of publishable quality as you would see in a journal article).A sample project writeup on another data set is located in "Course Resources" to guide you in constructing the project.

Hypothesis Tests for Two Samples
CompetencyFormulate and evaluate hypothesis tests for population parameters based on sample statistics using both Critical Regions and P-Values, and be able to state results in a non-technical way that can be understood by consumers of the data instead of statisticians.Student Profile
You are a statistician working for a drug company. A few new scientists have been hired by your company. They are experts in pharmacology, but are not experts in doing statistical studies, so you will explain to them how statistical studies are done when testing two samples for the effectiveness of a new drug. The two samples can be dependent or independent, and you will explain the difference.
Concept being Studied
Your focus is on hypothesis tests and confidence intervals for two populations using two samples, some of which are independent and some of which are dependent. These concepts are an extension of hypothesis testing and confidence intervals which use statistics from one sample to make conclusions about population parameters.What to SubmitYour research and analysis should be presented on the Word document provided. All calculations should be provided on a separate Excel workbook that should be submitted to your boss as well.
