Assignment: Media Sources Webquest (20 points) Instructions: For this webquest, you will consult three sources for information on a travel destination of your own choosing. Your first source must be the CIA Factbook. You may select your other two sources, but they must each represent a different type of media (i.e., a travel agency Web site or the tourism board for the town or city you are visiting or a personal travel blog with an entry on the destination you have selected). Use the Web sites that you consult to answer the questions on the webquest. Write your answers in complete sentences. When you are done, provide a one-paragraph (8-10 sentence) summary, incorporating details from your webquest to explain how the purpose for each of the sources you consulted differs. CIA Factbook Source 2: Audience:  How effective is the overall source in conveying its message?  How are graphics used to appeal to the audience? Use of Graphics:  Does the source use factual, qualitative, or technical data? Explain.  Do you consider this data to be accurate? Valid? Explain. Special Effects:  What sound/visual effects are used?  How do these special effects appeal to the audience? What emotions or reactions do they elicit? © K12 Inc.
