college football players trying out for the NFL are given a standardized intelligence test. the data below contains the average score on this exam and the graduation rate for football players at 10 different schools. 

    test score: 30.1, 29.1, 28.9, 28.4, 27.9, 23.4, 22.1, 21.8, 16.4

graduation%: 62.9, 43.8, 59.1, 60.8, 72.3, 50.0, 43.9, 44.1, 46.2

a) compute sample covariance 

b) compute the coefficient of correlation

c) what conclusions can you reach about the relationship between test scores and graduation rate?

          1) the covariance is too small to draw and significant conclusions

          2) there is a weak relationship between test scores and graduation rates, increase in scores cause relatively small increase in graduation rates

          3) there is a eek linear relationship between the variables. correlations this low can be caused by random variations
