Unit 5 Discussion: Social Epidemiology
Health equity is a common topic among epidemiologists and policy makers. As noted in an article in the Journal of Law, Medicine and Ethics, “health equity can be defined as the absence of disadvantage to individuals and communities in health outcomes, access to health care, and quality of health care regardless of one's race, gender, nationality, age, ethnicity, religion and socioeconomic status (Ransom, 2011).”With consideration to social epidemiology, use the ECPI Online Library or the Internet to research one or more examples of health inequities. Post a discussion in your own words of an example of a health inequity. Include what policy you would implement to improve health outcomes for this disparity. Your example must be supported by facts and your policy recommendation should be detailed to include “what, when, where and who”. A bad example of writing a policy recommendation is: “to increase the rate of prostate screening in minority men I will propose we do more screenings.” You should describe what organization(s) will perform the screening program, how it would be funded, who is your target population, what would be your quantitative goal, and what method of screening (exams, blood test,…) would be used. Remember to cite your sources and include the URLs.

Grantham University CH3 WK6 Foodborne Outbreak Due to Contamination HW
Bacteria, protists, and other forms of early life can be very harmful when they get into our food supply. Find a current (within the last two months) food recall or foodborne outbreak due to contamination by one of these living things. With that information, create a “Wanted” poster for the organism that has caused a recent outbreak of contaminated food. (Refer back to Chapter 3: “Food for Thought.”)
The poster should include:
The name and type of organism
Why the organism is dangerous due to the sickness it causes
An explanation of the recent outbreak (from a news story or the CDC food safety website)
Food safety tips to avoid future contamination
Any other relevant, helpful information

assignment 1 (the answer doesn't have to be too long) Mendel studies only structural traits of his plants, but in humans there have been studies of behavioral traits as well. Do you think there are examples of any behavioral traits in humans that are as "simple" as pea color in Mendel’s plants? What about dogs? Discuss with your classmates the best way to test this claim.assignment 2Why do you think females are typically the carriers of sex-linked traits, but those traits are not expressed?Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive disease. Jane and John do not have CF but are worried about having a child who will have it, because John had a brother with the disease. While meeting with a genetic counselor it was determined that John’s parents were not affected with CF, yet his brother had it. What is immediately known about the genotypes of John’s parents? Is the genotype of John immediately known? Under what circumstances could John and Jane have a child with CF?

each q going to be 1-2 paragraphs only referance to use is the book which i will provide as soon as you reply Question 1Why do some species demonstrate seasonal dimorphism? What environmental triggers stimulate these physical changes? What physiological processes might play a role in these physical changes?Question 2When faced with limited resources, how do individual organisms respond in terms of allocation of those resources? Provide an example and include how allocation of limited resources affects evolutionary fitness (survival and reproduction).Question 3Which structure in the human body is responsible for filtration? Why are the physiological processes of this structure important for survival?Question 4Peppered moths responded to environmental change (namely pollution) by shifting their morphology to a darker color. Why was this change in color morph important to the survival of these populations? Explain how this change is expressed at the population level, rather than the individual level. (Hint: think in terms of adaptation and evolution). Question 5How did the role of humans as predators likely impact populations of prey species? Provide relevant examples.Question 6What is biomagnification? How were raptor species (e.g., peregrine, American kestrel) affected by biomagnification of the insecticide, DDT?Question 7What is a dead zone? How does a dead zone form? What are the ecological consequences of a dead zone?Question 8Choose one of the ecosystems (e.g., montane, arctic tundra, tropical rainforest, etc.) that we discussed in lecture. Provide a description of the ecosystem services (with more detail than is in the slide). How can we manage this ecosystem's homeostasis? What measures of management and conservation should be taken?Question 9What is the Tragedy of the Commons? Provide an example of how this economic theory applies to ecology and ecological homeostasis. Include any relevant details to support your answer.

Biology Lab Report
I have to write a lab report in 3 pages minimum about real time PCR demonstration. the lab report must be in 4 different sections, which are objective, background, results, and discussion. I am attaching the ppt as well as an Excel sheet of all students results including my result and I was student number 14. On the result section, we need calculate the concentration of an unknown sample using a Standard Curve. you can find more details in the attached ppt. In addition, I am attaching the instruction paper that show what each section should include.
