HLTH 101: NATIONAL HEALTH ISSUE PAPER ASSIGNMENT & RUBRIC
Students will work in pairs to research and prepare a National Health Issue Paper to be submitted to the professor for evaluation. Students will submit
a 200-300 sentence proposal to Blackboard indicating the name of the proposed issue, reason for choosing the issue, and which culture will be
examined.
Students will research and discuss the following for the completed paper: 1) background information on the health issue for both cultures, 2) discuss
health implications, 3) identify populations impacted, and 4) compare and contrast the health issue to the United States culture.
There should be a minimum of five (5) peer-reviewed and reputable references in APA format found for the topic. The final paper should be at least
four (4) pages and should not exceed five (5) pages, including references, and should be written and formatted according to the guidelines below.
Adherence to Guidelines point values:
• Submit proposal indicating: 1) name of the proposed issue, 2) reason for choosing the issue, and 3) which culture will be examined (5
points)
• At least 5 peer reviewed references in APA format (1 point each)
• Document file saved as: National_Health_Issue_Paper.lastname.firstname (5 points)
• Double spaced, 12pt font, 1 inch margins (2 points each)
• 4-5 pages in length, including references. Use the provided format below (no title page is required) (4 points)
