Applied Management Exercise 1: Additional Guidelines
Here are some additional guidelines for the Content Analysis portion of your Applied
Approx. 1-2 paragraph explanation of your selected topic from the bulleted list.
Compose paragraph(s) in complete sentence structure.
Avoid using first person: “I, me, we, my, our, etc…”. This is standard in all writing
assignments unless you are asked to share your own experience, perspectives,
feedback, input, etc. Please note, you may use first person when responding to your
interactions with the Jewelry store.
In the content analysis (on Word doc), you are only required to submit 1-2 paragraphs.
In such a short response, it is vital that your content is “meaty”… no fluff. Short
paragraphs should be clearly articulated, very informative, and concisely demonstrate
that you understand the topic.
Incorporate 3 terms or concepts from the text. Here you will weave in the content from
your Chapter reading or from the PowerPoints. For example “supply chain” would count
for one. The purpose if this requirement is to ensure that you are delving into the
Chapters and demonstrate that you understand the content.
You do not need to include APA resources in this assignment since it only requires use of
the textbook. If you’d like to add sources you may, but it’s not a requirement.
Share a fun-fact: “food for thought”. Here you will research an interesting fact related to
the topic. This can be added at the bottom of your Word doc. Then simply add a
hyperlink after your sentence. Here is an example:
*Food for Thought: The majority of diamonds purchased in the U.S. are not certified as:
conflict free or fair trade.
